POZZALLO – What does infinity look like?
It is difficult to define it in a single, unequivocal way. Nevertheless, the Sicilian SACCA Gallery attempts to offer an interpretive key with the exhibition “Fractions of Infinity,” through the works of eleven artists invited to exhibit from August 3 in Pozzallo.

Nature, as a manifestation of the Absolute, certainly plays a role and has a profound connection with Infinity. Among natural entities, the sky and the sea are two fundamental elements with which the artists in the exhibition maintain a visceral relationship, shaped by their personal experiences and by the very condition of being islanders. The artists were asked to present one or more works in which this bond is made explicit. On display are works by Giuseppe Colombo, Giuseppe Costa, Giorgio Distefano, Marilina Marchica, Ettore Pinelli, Salvo Rivolo, Alessia Scarso, Federico Severino, Giuseppe Vassallo, Giovanni Viola e Vlady (Art).
The artists present a selection of works that, starting from the contemplation of the sky and the sea, offer a (partial) vision and a (personal) interpretation of infinity. A term that encompasses multiple connotations, understood both as something without limits or as something so vast that its end cannot be perceived. Infinity relates not only to the concept of space, but also to that of time. In fact, by pairing it with the word fraction, the intention was to convey and reinforce the concept of hic et nunc, the “here and now,” that is, a vision tied to the perception of space and time. What we see is necessarily a part of a whole to which we feel deeply connected: a portion of space (and of time, sometimes a single instant) by which we are irresistibly drawn.
The exhibition, curated by Giovanni Scucces, can be visited until September 3, from Tuesday to Saturday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, or by appointment.
